Everline Resort & Spa Wedding | Katie and Brad

“Wedding planning can have lots of hurdles, but it is SO worth it! The time you put into planning will pay dividends for an amazing weekend and a lasting memory of the most special day of your life! It is an incredible feeling to be surrounded by your community of friends and family from different parts of your life - all mingling together in one place, celebrating with you. It's a joy we can't describe - we loved every minute of it and didn't want it to end!”

“The weather at Everline Resort was very unpredictable and the forecast was constantly changing during the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. Sure enough, there were some drizzles of rain our big day, but the combination of skill from our vendor team and luck from mother nature meant that we were able to stick with the original outdoor plan from ceremony to reception. Despite all of our anxiety about rain, in the moments it did sprinkle, we loved it! It added a playful element to the evening that we all had fun with. Umbrellas were brought out and eventually, the sun broke through the clouds. They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck and we'll take it! The cherry on top is that the overcast day led to some rather dramatic backdrops for our photos.”

Advice to future couples who are currently planning their wedding:

“If you're indecisive or like to overthink like us, your wedding planning gets overwhelming pretty easily. If possible, make your decisions faster and focus on the bigger picture of what's most important to you. Stick with your gut and let the pros do their thing. At the same time, have fun with it and add your personal touches! We had so much fun with all the things that made it uniquely ours, from selecting items for our welcome bags to incorporating personalized graphic designs from our brother-in-law, Tyler. Katie had so much fun making multiple illustrations of our two dogs, that she kept adding projects up until the final days. It is your wedding day after all; enjoy the process together and have fun with it!”

“A few of our favorite moments were some of the most unexpected of all. We planned the wedding day meticulously for over a year, yet it was a spontaneous event that ended up being one of our favorite memories of the night. Deep into the evening after plenty of dancing & drinks, we noticed some of our friends assembling the troops and two chairs to bring to the dance floor. We were then hoisted up in these chairs and before we knew it, we were dancing the Hora. It was joyous and surreal. The fact that it came about in the moment, spearheaded by one of Brads oldest friends, made it that much more special! A funny thing about having an outdoor wedding is that you spend a lot of time worrying about the weather”

Post Wedding…

“We ended up sending two rounds of save the dates due to a late-breaking venue change; therefore, we decided that we should probably have two honeymoons. Right after the wedding, we spent a couple days at Everline Resort to decompress before heading to Puerto Vallarta for 5 nights. We snuck in our trip to this coastal town right before the rainy season, and spent our time in equal parts beach, tacos, mezcal, and exploration. For our second honeymoon, we have 3 weeks blocked out in October. We're going to Peru and Costa Rica! We've had Machu Picchu on our bucket list for quite some time and we're excited to finally experience it together. From there, we will head to Costa Rica for some relaxation before flying back home.”

Lazlo, you will be missed. After being part of your parent's wedding journey, it's clear that you were one very lucky pup. Katie and Brad embody thoughtfulness, kindness, and boundless generosity. We are so grateful that you were able to walk down the aisle on their momentous day.

We will think of you next time we take a sip of some old-fashioned bourbon.
