A Lake Tahoe Adventure Elopement

We all waited a long time for this day to come. Chrissy and Dave were originally going to get married in a more traditional wedding setting but due to the pandemic they opted for an adventure elopement which then got postponed because of the fires last year. An intimate celebration at her parent's cabin ended up being the perfect fit ❤️

During our initial call, they had dreamed up a big adventure! They came to me with a plan, which was a bonus since elopements actually have a lot of planning on the back end. They handled having to change their wedding plans more than once with a lot of patience and made sure to communicate throughout all of it. On the wedding day, it felt so natural to be there. They really wanted a photojournalistic approach, so it was so refreshing to flow with the day, and adventure into Desolation Wildnerness with them. They are a gem of a couple, and I hope our paths cross again :)

Enjoy a peek into their Tahoe adventure elopement...

There were lots of favorite moments from the wedding! But hiking up to the place where we got engaged and sharing our vow's privately was such an amazing and memorable experience. Also, having Chrissy's brother perform the marriage ceremony was also extremely special because he knows both of us so well and was able to personalize the ceremony in a meaningful way.

Chrissy and Dave wanted a more photojournalistic approach to the wedding day. It started with getting ready at two adorable tahoe cabins. One of which is Chrissy’s parents and very special to the family.

The ceremony was broken down into three parts. Part one was at the cabin and then they headed into desolation wilderness to read their vows privately. The final part was back at the cabin with family and friends.

Advice to couples who are currently planning their elopement:

Dave and I were so glad that we spent the time to really envision what we wanted out of the day. Because of multiple reschedules due to Covid and the Tahoe fire, we had to make many changes to our original wedding plan. Our wedding turned out exactly what we wanted because each time we had to make new plans, it challenged us to continue to reflect on what was most important to us and use that to guide all wedding plans. In the end, the small details worked themselves out because we had a day that was us.

We exchanged vows in the same location where we got engaged.

Our original plan was to be married in the summer of 2020, so we are so excited to finally be married!

Any honeymoon plans?

We are planning on going on our honeymoon maybe next summer! We aren't exactly sure where we want to go, but we are currently planning on doing a month in Europe. We are looking forward to exploring somewhere new outside of the country.

We are so grateful to everyone who was able to make the trip to Tahoe to shared our special day with us! It was our perfect wedding, and we were so happy to be surrounded by family and friends.
