Traditional Filipino Wedding at Valhalla Lake Tahoe

Trisha and Garrett’s wedding at Valhalla was full of personality, color, and little details that felt unmistakably like them. With a Filipino-American tropical-inspired design, jewel-toned décor, vibrant orchids, and plenty of thoughtful personal touches, the day was anything but ordinary.

One of the biggest highlights was the music. A live string quintet, complete with a harp, brought a memorizing environment, performing everything from Charli XCX’s “360” from the Bridgerton soundtrack to nostalgic favourites from Kingdom Hearts and Zelda. We were doing some couples and family photos before guests arrived, so we got to hear a private performance while they practiced. Such a treat!

About the flowers…

Tropical blooms, especially all those beautiful orchids, brought color and energy to the setting and tied perfectly into the couple’s Filipino-American wedding style.

Trisha also put her artistic talents to work, DIY-ing almost everything she could. From painting and designing to creating the many details that made the celebration feel personal. For example, hand painting EVERY SINGLE invitation!!!

Garrett brought his love of maps, history, and very well-timed proverbs to the mix, making the wedding a true reflection of both of them.

Their advice to other couples is simple: communicate clearly, delegate, and trust the people around you.

Once the wedding day arrives, let someone else handle the little things so you can be present for the moments that matter.

Food was another major highlight, with guests raving about the mini beef Wellingtons, a nod to the couple’s love of Gordon Ramsay.

After moving across the country from Boston and settling into their new home in Reno, Trisha and Garrett are now looking forward to creating their next chapter together . Renovating their home, travelling, spending time with family and friends, and slowly making their space feel like their own.

Above all, Trisha and Garrett felt incredibly lucky to have their favorite people together in Tahoe. Family and friends travelled from all over the world to celebrate with them, making the weekend even more meaningful.

They’re so grateful to everyone who travelled, helped, celebrated, danced, ate, and made the weekend what it was.

It was a celebration filled with so much love, joy, and personality, and they wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
