Nevada City, CA Wedding | Elopement Photographer | Elsa Boscarello Photography

I'm so honored to have photographed Katlin & Michael's elopement in Nevada City, CA and I can't wait to go back and document more weddings and elopements there.

Katlin & Michael are college sweethearts and just two very rad humans. They didn’t have a “real” proposal. The whole thing just felt natural and they felt that the time was right. Their only wedding guest was Tulla their non-human daughter (aka adorable pup). They are originally from North Carolina...so yes they have seen The Avett Brothers loads of times and yes we can all be extremely jealous about this fact. Due to the crazy weather I wasn’t able to get through Donner Pass for their ceremony but they were cool enough to have me come down the next day for their couples portraits. They drove from the bay area and eloped in Nevada City, CA! Nevada City is a charming little town (the PERFECT place to elope) located 60 miles northeast of Sacramento, CA and 28 miles north of Auburn. It's a lively little town filled with forest vibes and local shops. Oh! And excellent coffee! I got there a few hours earlier than our meet time, so I was able to explore the town. Scroll all the way down to read about a few of my favorite stops.

For the majority of their elopement photos we went to Scotts Flat Lake. Literally 15 minutes before their couples portraits it started raining/snowing/slushing? The storm looks pretty good on these two.

Kaitlin and Mike said they "find joy in simplicity, and find time spent with each other is the best time spent. After a decade of love, they stole some time mid-week to elope"!

Stormy weather is meant for cuddles and slow kisses.

Shortly after the storm cleared up and we were able to explore the area a bit more.

This is their adorable pup Tulla! Insert a million heart eyes right here.

There's no doubt Scotts Flat Lake was the perfect spot to capture their energy and love. The view was perfect. Their chemistry was great. YES to it all.

We wrapped up their photos by heading back to Nevada City, California and cruised around downtown.

Congrats on your BEST DAY EVER!

Spots I highly recommend stopping at:

-The Curly Wolf for coffee. Very chill spot.

-Fudenjuce is a vegan/vegetarian spot and it's SO good. I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian and I still fell in love with their selection. Next time I want to try their smoothies!

-All of the shops downtown. You'll find some great shop owners to talk to and too many treasures to list.
