Maximalism Meets Edgewood
There are weddings that are beautiful, and then there are weddings that completely transport you. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be one of those days. The design was an absolute maximalist dream, but what stayed with me long after I packed up my cameras was the way Katie and Zach chose to experience every minute of their wedding.
They intentionally kept posed photos to a minimum because they wanted to be fully present with the people they love. On a day that can easily feel like a production, it was such a joy to watch them truly be guests at their own wedding. They even carved out time before the ceremony to simply be together.
āKatie is a fellow maximalist and we loved the idea of using the blues and greens of Lake Tahoe in her design. Tahoe holds a special place in her heart, she and Zack have a love of travel and the outdoors so we wanted to bring the outside in. We chose some botanical prints to mix on the tabletop with the patterned linen from Lola Valentina and the green Ginori plates from Theoni.ā - Nicole Arena

āFreckle worked their magic on all paper goods capturing the perfect blend of modern and traditional with lake imagery on the save the date to echoing the florals from the table linens. ā - Nicole Arena
The iconic Rolex clock at Edgewood Tahoe. I had never paid much attention to it until Zach's one photo request was to take a portrait beneath it. As it turns out, the clock is more than just a landmark. Rolex, the official timekeeper of major golf championships, gifts these clocks to select championship courses like Edgewood as a symbol of the venue's legacy and prestige.
One of my favorite moments was during sunset portraits, I turned around for a moment, and when I looked back, Katie and Zach had disappeared back into the reception.
They literally ditched their own couples photos to go back to their wedding. And, honestly, I loved it. I couldn't have asked for a better reflection of what mattered most to them.
āFor the finishing touch we added these gem tonal glasses in shades of jade that really captured the sunlight that was streaming into the ballroom late into the day.ā - Nicole A

P.S. One of my favorite parts of the weekend wasn't something I photographed. It was how genuinely kind everyone was. Katie and Zach, it makes perfect sense that you've surrounded yourselves with such wonderful people. From your friends and family to the venue staff, everyone had something kind to say about you both. It made an already beautiful weekend feel even more special.
