Donner Lake Elopement

This wedding season has been unexpectedly crazy. With COVID, I wasn't sure what to expect, but having couples like A&B made it a breeze!! Their laidback and welcoming energy is beautiful, and I'm so happy that our paths crossed :) Enjoy a peek of their Donner Lake elopement!

“It’s so hard to choose one part of the day that was our favorite. One of our favorite parts of the day was sharing our personal vows. Even though we had no idea what each other was writing, we both mentioned the same memory as one of our favorites together and it was a perfect reminder of the reason we were getting married and how much even the little moments can mean to you. Our family also rented an amazing Airbnb right across from Donner Lake and we could not have had more fun celebrating with everyone that night. We’ve never done any kind of professional photos together either so we actually had a blast doing that and getting a sneak peek of the photos back was a perfect way to end such an amazing day.”

“We know 2020 has been a chaotic year so we truly appreciate that through all the COVID and road closure complications Elsa, Meredith and our family attending were committed to making it work. We also feel so thankful Brian’s sister, Christine, was able to stream our ceremony for family who couldn’t be there with us.”

“We had originally planned a trip to Ireland for our honeymoon but due to COVID we had to reschedule so we still kept some time off to go to Lake Tahoe. Even though we both go to Tahoe with friends and family pretty often, it’s so nice to enjoy it on our own time and was much more relaxing than I imagined Ireland would’ve been since we would have been on a bit more of a schedule. We can’t wait to go to Ireland but we’re so thankful we still got to spend a couple days to kick back together.”

Fun facts about A&B:

"We’re both equally dog people us much as we are cat people" They have two of each!

"Our guilty pleasure is watching Love Island and Bachelor in Paradise together."

"We got to swim with sharks in an underwater cave on a dive in Maui!"

Advice to couples planning an elopement:

“Don’t worry about what other people think! At times, we felt bad we weren’t including more people in our wedding but your friends and family that can’t be there will understand and still be happy for you. We knew right away we wanted an very small wedding and those that weren’t able to be there were still happy for us and hyped us up! Also, the day goes by so fast, soak up every minute as much as you can!”

“We love traveling together so we can’t wait to travel more! We’ve done a lot of traveling within the US but have been making more plans to travel outside of the states with Ireland first up on the list. We also love to camp so we’ve started a list of national parks we’d like to camp at. Zion, Yellowstone, and Glacier National Parks are at the top of our list!”
