Colorful Mountain Wedding at Zephyr Lodge

Carlos and Jacquie’s wedding was such a perfect representation of who they are as a couple. There was so much joy and excitement woven into the entire day, perfectly complemented by the vibrant colors, and wildflower touches.

Their “mountain cocktail” wedding brought together a little bit of dressed-up elegance with a little bit of wild energy, all surrounded by an abundance of flowers, food, drinks, and fun.

Their wedding at Zephyr Lodge at Northstar was a celebration of everything they love about life in Truckee: the mountains, the outdoors, good food and drinks, and most importantly, the people they love.

The celebration wasn't limited to one day.

Their wedding week gave their family and friends the chance to experience Truckee alongside them, beginning with a welcome party at their favorite bar, RMU, followed by an afternoon friend float at Boca Reservoir.

Jacquie and Carlos live in Truckee full time, and it’s easy to see why. Hiking, biking, boating, skiing, snowshoeing, or simply sitting on their deck with a glass of wine. The outdoors is already such a big part of their everyday life.

So celebrating their wedding in the mountains felt incredibly natural.

A special part of the day was the ceremony, thoughtfully created by their longtime friend and officiant, Jared Windt. He brought their friends and family into the ceremony in a way that felt uniquely personal to the couple.

They embraced the setting while adding their own elevated twist: a mountain cocktail vibe that was polished but never too serious, with colourful florals, plenty of good food and drinks, and a celebration that kept getting more fun as the night went on.

Their biggest piece of advice is refreshingly honest: something will go wrong.

No matter how much energy you spend trying to make everything run perfectly, something in the planning process won't go according to plan. Once you accept that, it's much easier to let go and enjoy the ride.

And that's exactly what they did.

From mountain adventures to future business dreams, Jacquie and Carlos are building a life that feels just as adventurous, thoughtful, and full of fun as their wedding day.

And if their wedding week was any indication of there future, there will be plenty more memories, and plenty more dancing to come.
